I met up with Christina and Travis to shoot their engagement session while they were visiting town and preparing for their upcoming wedding. I was invited north-of-town to shoot at Travis' grandparent's home (bluffs overlooking the water, and an amazing and memorable garden), and then took me to a "super-secret" swimming spot (um, so cool, and I'll be going back). I love being surprised with new locations and this didn't disappoint!
Meeting clients for the first time is always so exciting for me, but I know it can be nerve-wracking for some... which is why I offer complimentary engagement sessions with all my wedding coverage. It takes any first-meeting-insecurities out of the equation for, what can be, a stressful day. That said, no stress here. These two are amazing, lovely, kind, and photogenic. Just look. This session has been a long time coming. We shot this back in September and Cara has been so patient waiting for it. I wanted to roll it out when the studio was a little bit quieter and people had stopped thinking about weddings and started looking forward to Grad! I'm getting lots of inquiries already... and it's never too early to start thinking about booking your upcoming shoot as many key dates book early.
So, back to Cara. What a natural beauty! Not only that, she was kind and up for anything... a perfect combination for any shoot. And luckily for me, she's my Grad Rep, so I know that she'll rock it in the Spring for her formal session. Here's Cara - a Kennedy Photografik 2014 Grad Rep. Want to know more about sessions? Just ask her! Some things are just meant to be.
Jeff and Carlie and I lucked out in the middle of a Fall with weather that made you LONG for sunshine. We decided on an early morning session that married the best of PR - funky buildings along the avenue finishing in one of my favourite location, brimming with tall grass and rustic charm (which, incidentally, is the theme for Jeff and Carlie's June wedding). Boy, do I love summers on the Coast. This family session brought the me and the Percey family (plus dog!) together at Second Beach. On a warm, bright evening, this place looks (and feels) like the Caribbean , only with a noticeably different background... the hulks and islands. I'd argue that it's better. :)
Okay, so this set of images makes me soooooo excited. Like, giddy excited.
Breanne and Chad joined me on a hot and intenstly sunny day in Powell River for their engagement session. Both live in Alberta, and were out on the coast to do some pre-wedding "chores" and family visiting. I'm beyond excited for their wedding in August, and I loved working with these two and know that we will be able to create some amazing images on their special day! I've been pushing myself creatively, shooting more with off-camera lighting and in hard light, in addition to my softer, natural light images, and I'm thrilled with the results. I hope you are, too. Now! On to the images! Don't forget to leave these lovebirds some love in the comments section or on Facebook! |
